Champagne Philipponnat revisited (II) : Ahh, le Clos des Goisses

On a cold February day in 2011 Charles Philipponnat stays on top of a real Champagne clos. The 2000 vintage is just released but because of the unique minerality which this cru brings into Pinot noir there is this urgent suggestion: Buy it but storage it. This very fresh wine with 70 percent Pinot noir needs time, and someone with a Vintage 1990 in his cellar should be a happy ego. Watch out for more news on the Clos de Goisses in these pages. Photo by Oliver Rüther.
